::Bus station to all major Thai cities. It is just a 10minutes walk from the Central Festival Mall. Took a VIP32 bus to Bangkok at 750bht fixed price. Departed 3.30pm arrived 6am. Bus is spacious with washroom facilities. Dinner is rather late at 11am though. The bus will stop at Jatuchak Terminal before proceeding to Southern Terminal.

::This is typical bus station in Thailand, rather busy one. Buses, minivans, songthews, motobike taxis etc. One can find certain amount of chaos, confusion (due to language barrier mostly) and touts but if you know how to deal with it you can go places cheap and effectively as far North as Chiang Rai. Nice touch - Central Festival Mall is short walk away - instead of waiting in the heat you can go to Starbucks or even to movie theaters. There are clean and reasonably priced hotels close by.

::Taking the bus from bangkok to hat yai is my favorite trip. If ppl ask me, i will always tell them the same thing. Avoid the mini buses for a long trip. Its freakin uncomfortable. There is nothing to be embarrassed of taking a bus. A lot of people do it. And way much more comfortable!

::Have to pay for extra seat for my backpack in regular line government minibus to Sungai Kolok/Malaysia border :-( Total 400 baht. Normal bus is in the afternoon only (coming from Samui/Surat Thani) and if late you may hit closed border point.
