Nice way to avoid BKK traffic jam and enjoy the view. Cheaper and Faster for sure. ðŸšĒ I took the orange ðŸšĐ line from Sathorn to Memorial bridge took only 15 minutes if by car it would take us an hour+

It was very cheap to take river boat trip in Bangkok. The boat stopped at the piers which were convenient for visiting different temples. There was not a gangway for boarding and alighting the boat, so swift action was required.

Be sure you are at the wright pier, at the wrong one they want to have 2000 Bht, and want to sell a tour. Take the Hop on Hop of water taxi for 50 Bht One Way or 180 Bht for a unlimited drive for a day. Save money!!

The public ferries are very dangerous 1. They are often overloaded with passengers ..hardly any standing room. And they keep trying to pack more people in rather than run.more boats 2. There are no life jackets 3. Getting on and off the boat is dangerous because they dont tie off the boat at each stop so the boat can suddenly separate from the pier as you get off and on and you can fall into the water and be crushed to death as the boat sways back to the pier. (A student was killed 2 days ago when he fell into the water and was crushed) The safest place standing on the platform at the very end of the boat. That area is the most open part of the boat should it sink or capsize. If the boat is full try to be last to board. (They will try to make you move into the boat..but dont.) 4. Definitely avoid if you have to hold a child. You need all hands to safely get off and on 5. These boats would be outlawed in the west 6. If you use the boats the least crowded times are after morning rush hour.and...afternoon before school and offices let out

Beside Sathorn BTS station. Nearby also a long tail boat pier. The Chao Phraya pier is the bigger one. Different flag boat for different fare and destination. Generally, no flag and orange are the cheapest, then yellow and green. The blue might be for tourist, most expensive. The orange opens up to 19:00.
