  Kinichiro is right. Just outside parking on the left side can get a bus to the downtown. It's fast and cheap

  For budget and light luggage traveler, public bus service is also available. get out of the building, walk straight ahead through the parking lot and proceed to the exit. Find some beige-colored benches on left hand side. Wait there for a bus. Get off at right after railway crossover for downtown center access. Costs 30 baht and 30-40 minutes ride.

  Not too crowded. The passenger building has only two stories but has sufficient restaurants, toilets.

  Basic airport. Taxis and vans at the time when I visited Songkhla were convenient as they were just outside the airport door, but inconvenient if you wanted to go to the municipal part of Songkhla, forcing you to pay for a second van trip.
