::Be respectful even when drunk. I personally had no bad encounters. My friend filed a report in English. There are English speaking officers on hand. If you don't trust the local police officers you can dial 1150 for assistance by Tourist police. August 2016

::The police here work illegally with nightclub managers in the area. They will arrest you and get you to pay to get out of trouble. It's a desperate poor country with desperate corrupt cops. Life is cheap in Thailand. Watch your step and make sure you stay sober. If they see a foreigner that has had too many drinks they will take advantage of it. Hopefully Karma will catch up to these police officers.
