  Everything from BMW is much too expensive if you compare with Germany or Austria because of the Tax. At least i could buy a 1st Class Motorbike Helmet there, more than 600 Euro, but good ones are hard to get here.

  Lovely showroom. One motorbike salesman on duty. I was the only customer. Nearly totally ignorant of the products and of the published published special offers on the internet. No accessories list, no prices. Test rides advertised, but no, "please go yourself to BangNa"! A three hour drive for me. The only interest was in "pay deposit today". So so so sad. When spending a million Baht plus on a motorbike I expect far better service.

  They charge a lot of BAHT than do not install BMW parts !!!!

  A life threatening bike repair at German Auto I'd taken my BMW F650GS bike to Geman Auto, Pattaya, for some minor repair work on the brakes and a brake fluid change. The result was both frightening and very dangerous!! When the work had been completed, having been delayed by needing parts sent from BMW Germany, I went to get my bike. Their bike mechanic doesn't speak English and their nice customer service technician, who speaks some English, is not knowledgeable on bikes. I asked the mechanic, in Thai, if he had _road tested_ the bike after completing the repairs. The mechanic replied "Yes" Evidently, his road test was merely driving the bike slowly, the short distance to the front of the shop. It was obviously never ridden on the road. Leaving the shop, I'd driven just a few hundred meters from the shop (on Sukhumvit) when I needed to quickly accelerate to pass a slow moving car. After passing the car, I released the throttle to slow down, but _the throttle stuck_ and would not release from it's position! I was still going at nearly 100kph!! I had to manually twist the throttle to slow down; I made a U-turn and carefully returned to German Auto.. Now again in the repair shop, I showed the mechanic the problem. I twisted the throttle and it stuck. the engine was now roaring at nearly 5000RPM!! I turned off the bike. the mechanic's solution was to simply loosen the bolt, a turn or two, which fastens the throttle and handguard. He never unscrewed and inspected the bolt. This seemed to (temporarily) remedy the problem but it also loosened the handguard, allowing it able to flop around. Again I was driving back home and _the throttle stuck again_! At home, I disassembled the throttle and found that the bolt which holds the assembly together was significantly BENT! I've owned this bike for 7-years and the throttle has _always_ worked perfectly. The only rational and logical explanation that the bolt could have been bent was that someone had accidently let the bike fall and the right handlebar and throttle impacted on the ground! I went to a machine shop, they properly straightened the bolt and re-assembled the throttle. The throttle again works as it should and the handguard is now again tight and no longer flops around. I suspect that the German Auto mechanics are not allowed to actually test repaired bikes on the _open road_, due to liability reasons, which means that any unknown post repair problems will never be revealed.
