For 50 baht entrance, it is definitely worth it. The gardens are spectacular and the homes on the property are beautiful. Takes 1 to 2 hours to leisurely walk the grounds. You cannot enter the palace or any homes. They do require full length pants for men and women which I found to be silly (minus 1 star). But you can rent for 40 baht at entrance. Definitely worth visiting if you are here for the temple anyway.

Worth the cost of entry. Dress code is strict as this was the first “temple” type location I was unable to wear shorts at, and had to purchase pants (for actually super fair prices compared to in town prices) to be able to enter. Tons of beautiful photo locations, hundreds of types of plants and flowers. We spent a few hours here and could have spent more. I would recommend blocking off 7 hours if you’re coming from Chiang Mai, we didn’t have enough time to really walk all of the grounds and had to rush everything.

Paths loop past extensive and beautiful floral displays on the palace grounds. Roses are especially popular with the royal family, it seems. You see exteriors of royal residences, though all are closed to entry. Modest clothing is essential--long (not 3/4) pants or dress, for example. Shops rent clothing. Easy to get to by songtaew or taxi from Chiang Mai. Admission 50 baht. Hours 8:30-11:30 and 1-3:30 but closed if royal family is here.

Very refreshing place. Lots of flowers. The whole area is a big garden. You can walk around & i would suggest 1 hour for this place. But to get here from Chiang Mai is not a pleasant journey. Lots of turning points which might make you little bit uncomfortable

The flowers are beautiful! Alot more time here so you can go around without rushing. 3hrs would be generous enough with all those picture taking. The trail is a bit steep so it's best to just take your time while walking. Comfort rooms in the area are very clean even at places where people rarely go. Be well dressed/covered when you visit. Shorts and sleeveless tops are not allowed. You can bring a jacket or a cardigan but they don't allow scarfs and shawls to cover your arms. If all else fails, you can rent a proper attire just outside the gate for a very reasonable price. It would be perfect for your photos too!
